Beth Wallace

Beth started with the Boys and Girls Club of South Puget sound in November of 2008, working as a coordinator at the North Mason Teen Center, before becoming Program Director of the Westsound locations.  She has a Bachelors of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Evolution and Ecology, with a minor in Cultural Anthropology.  Her background is in science, team-building and adventure education with hands-on experience working with teams and individuals.  During her college years she supervised over 125 student employees at the Mirror Lake Café, while working part-time for the YMCA of Central Ohio.  Beth continued at the YMCA after college as and Outdoor Education Instructor in Columbus, Ohio, and for the YMCA Camp Orkila, on Orcas Island.  She also worked for a year and a half as an Outreach Worker for Directions for Youth and Families, providing services to at-risk youth and families as a part of a community psychiatric support team.  Much of her experience in Ohio was with disadvantaged youth in urban environments, including gang prevention and an opportunity to co-lead a drug abuse prevention course for juvenile offenders in Columbus.  As a volunteer, Beth assisted the teen S.C.U.B.A. Club, and the Future of America teen mentorship program at the Southwest Community Center in Urbancrest, Ohio.
