Youth of the Year honorees Lucas Rhyneer and Riya Richardson joined Katie Woods, Club Director of Program Services, on TV Tacoma’s CityLine to share how the Youth of the Year program empowers young leaders and creates brighter futures through Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound.
Riya was recently honored with a Presidential scholarship award from the University of Washington, recognizing her leadership, dedication, and bright future ahead. We are incredibly proud to see her achievements celebrated and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes next.

The Tacoma Mayor’s Youth Commission is hosting a Clothing Swap on June 6, 10AM-2PM at the Henry T. Schatz Branch in Tacoma! Community members of all ages are invited to browse free clothing, shoes, bags, scarves, hats, and accessories while promoting sustainability and giving gently used items a second life. Join us for a fun and welcoming event focused on style, community, and reuse.
